1/22/2013 Daily Image: Pilot Point Bank
The Farmers and Merchants Bank of Pilot Point, was originally constructed in 1896 in a classic Germanic style. This bank building was used in the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde, but now houses a small art gallery.
The Farmers and Merchants Bank was closed during the Great Depression, so the notorious duo actually never robbed this particular establishment.
During the filming, every available home in Pilot Point was rented out to the cast and crew. Since 2010 the annual Bonnie and Clyde Days celebration occurs in October to commemorate this event.
