It’s been a busy week and it’s only Wednesday!
Tuesday I spent the entire morning signing 150 books for a client who bought them for Christmas presents. Make no mistake, handling and signing 150 books that weigh 2 lbs, 15 oz. (let’s just call it 3 pounds…) is a bit of a chore. Especially when 60 of them need to be individually personalized.
Lots of time invested over the weekend in Fort Worth is paying off in new vendors signing up. We placed several copies with the Cross-Eyed Moose, a very odd and amusing place to shop for western-oriented collectibles, decor and assorted detritus. We really liked this place and thought it would be an eclectic fit for the book.
Then yesterday we closed to the deal so place books in the Cowtown Winery, also in the Stockyards area of Fort Worth. We will take a selection of books over there tomorrow.
Next came a phone call from Bishop Street Market in the Bishop Arts district. We had delivered their initial order of book last Friday, along with a re-order on their selection of note cards, which had all sold out in less than 2 months. They had only half of the books left and had pre-sold 15 books to one customer who wanted them all personalized for Christmas gifts.
Then an email arrives to the effect Bishop Street has sold all but the display book and needs a lot more. Tomorrow.
So it’s off to Bishop Arts District first thing this morning with a good-sized delivery, then on to Fort Worth with at least one more delivery – possibly more.
But wait… There’s More!
Next up on the day’s amazing list of great news is an email I receive, telling me I’ve been juried into the 18th Deep Ellum Arts Festival next April 6, 7 & 8 in Downtown Dallas. So mark your calendars for this event and come on down. We will be showing some amazing canvas prints of my work in addition to the Texas As I See It (coffee table book) and Fine Art Note Cards.
It’s been a very good week and it’s only Wednesday!
And it gets better:
Thursday evening, join us at MarketPlace at Frisco Square for our 2nd book signing. We will have a couple of very large canvas prints from the book, refreshments and finger food, and lots and lots of books available for sale.
